SYMBOLS OF OFFICE
When You're A King Things Come To You

AAlthough Arthur has pledged never to draw the sword Excalibur in anger it rarely leaves his side. The four-and-a-half feet long Celtic broadsword is a fine piece of workmanship, made from steel and inlaid with gold It was the actual weapon used in the Hollywood movie Excalibur.
It was given to Arthur by the effects designer that made it several years ago and was magically blessed by two different Druidic orders, making it a real sword for a king.

Magical powers have also been given to his staff, which doubles as a wand and symbol of office. It has a piece of magical quartz on top and a copper spiral from top to bottom used to focus magical energy.

Recently, the king was bequeathed a shield bearing his coat of arms. The shield dates back to at least 1497, when it was recorded as being used in a Druidic ceremony. It had been kept in same family for more than 500 years and was handed down from father to son until Arthur made a TV appearance.

'This bloke saw me on the TV when I appeared on the Clive Anderson show on Channel 4.
'The next day he gave me a ring and said he'd got this shield and he hadn't known what to do with it till he saw me on the box. 'I went to meet him and he gave it to me. He said I must be the rightful owner.'
